Totems: Part A
Totems is a conceptual project which aims to challenge conventions of appearance and form we may typically associate with parametric design. The concept of totems is referenced by a series of stacked polygonal profiles. Through parametric interpretation, these profiles are altered and eschewed to begin the process of parametric thinking or interpretation. After the profiles are lofted together, the resulting mesh is developed into a simplified form which attempts to approximate the original form through smooth, bent surfaces. The results are ambiguous, organic forms that are derived purely parametrically.
