Cheekwood Kiosk

 Cheekwood Kiosk

Cheekwood serves as the botanical gardens for the city of Nashville. In an effort to improve their guest experience, they asked Pfeffer Torode Architecture to hold a firm-wide design competition for a new multi-use kiosk that can be easily moved throughout the gardens.

The Cheekwood Kiosk provides a functional and durable hub for admissions and concessions around the Cheekwood gardens. Steel is used on all edges and corners of the kiosk to provide durability as well as to accentuate the simple geometry. Minimal protruding service counters and overhangs keep the overall profile of the kiosk compact and easily maneuverable. Vertical wood planking on the exterior allows the kiosk to be easily identifiable yet complimentary of the garden backdrop. Finally, the interior space is fully clad in plywood for durability and natural warmth.
